Meet the Mystic

From Statistics to Yoga — how the pursuit of direct experience dissolved the boundaries between scientific pragmatism and whimsical mysticism.
The Unremarkable Journey of Becoming
Like many in the modern age, I followed the familiar blueprint: education, career, and a version of success defined entirely by others. For six years as a statistician in the aviation insurance industry, I played my role well, thinking this was all there was to life. I was an achiever by conditioning. Underneath the partying, work, and relationships lived a numbed ache — a quiet, suppressed longing for a life that actually felt alive.
My greatest teachers didn't appear on mountaintops or in ancient texts. They arrived as failed relationships, unexpressed anger, and a career that looked perfect on paper but felt entirely hollow. They were the mirror that reflected everything I had rejected within myself and the world around me.
What began as a desperate curiosity in self-improvement eventually deepened into a genuine search for Truth. While living at the Isha Institute of Inner Sciences — the Tennessee ashram founded by the mystic Sadhguru — I had an epiphany: we bury ourselves in stories, mistaking them as Truth. Our relations with others, our belief systems, our desires — all built on the shaky foundation of assumptions and imaginings. If what we thought was Truth wasn't actually Truth, and we had fooled ourselves this whole time, then how could Truth be seen? The answer given to me: Direct Experience.
I stopped analyzing the data of my life and started actually living it. Control was exchanged for the capacity to hold space — space for life to unfold before me and show me where I fit in the vast, extraordinary puzzle.
The most important lesson in this shift, and the reason I facilitate this work today: a fulfilling, joyful, profoundly magical life is not a genetic lottery. It is not an exclusive state reserved for a special few or the perfectly healed. It is a biological and energetic reality available to absolutely anyone willing to eagerly seek it.
My journey was unremarkable because the mechanics of transformation are universal. A deeply grounded, vibrant life isn't a skill you have to learn — it is a biological baseline you simply have to return to. Transformation is not about grinding to create a new, "better" version of yourself (trust me, I tried, crashed, and burned). It is simply about finding the stillness required for life to show you what has always been there, as it effortlessly unfolds before you. Today, I teach and facilitate sound baths, yoga, and breathwork across metro Atlanta.
